Secondary

CEM started COMBSE, our first value added monitoring project, for a dozen Tyneside Sixth Forms in 1983. The project was soon renamed ALIS and has been running ever since, now providing feedback for over half of all A-level students. As well as ALIS, secondary schools can also subscribe to Yellis (for monitoring GCSE performance) and MidYIS (to establish an entry-level baseline and monitor both Key Stage 3 and GCSE/Standard Grade performance). All these projects offer both traditional paper-and-pencil assessments and computer adaptive assessments to provide schools with a measure of each pupil's developed ability. There are also optional attitude surveys that allow schools to monitor what their students feel about the education they receive.

CEM currently provides monitoring data on almost 700,000 secondary school/post-16 students each year.
