MidYIS Process and Timescales

Please note that all timescales detailed are indicative and may be subject to change.
 
STEP 1 - Registration (April to close of the testing window)
 

You can register by either:

  • downloading and completing the registration form.
  • existing schools can complete the online registration form.
STEP 2 - Receiving Test Materials/ Administering the Tests
 
  • Computer Based MidYIS - Administration instructions are sent out. You can also download any additional copies from the secondary+ website.
  • Paper Based MidYIS - Administration materials and test booklets are sent to schools in time for their desired testing day. Further copies of administration materials are available to download from secondary+.

STEP 3 - Return Completed Tests
 

Guidance on returning paper tests is given in the relevant instruction pack. Please allow up to three weeks from test collection for feedback to be available.

Computer based MidYIS schools don't need to do anything once a test has been completed. Feedback will be available within 24 hours.

 
STEP 4 - Receiving your Feedback
 

All MidYIS feedback is available to download from the Secondary+ secure website.

Baseline Feedback - download the Excel file format feedback that includes standardised scores, individual pupil record sheets, predictions to key stage 3 and 4, intake profiles, bands and percentiles etc.

Attitudinal Feedback - presented as reports that compare the responses of your pupils with the responses of all other MidYIS pupils.

Value Added Feedback - Available after schools have returned examination results to us. Excel files that include student, subject and school level reports. These files are typically available early in term 1.
